Present nanny sleeps in the house Mon-Sat. She signs off at 6pm for the night but is available in case of emergency. Some nights she takes the baby monitor and charges for the night. All work together on an as-needed basis. Schedule for trips and vacations would be different and discussed ahead of time.  Nanny would be given time needed and family is extremely understanding of personal needs, appointments, recharging time and so on and flexible with advanced planning especially.  Their present nanny (who is leaving to start her own family) is a very well-known educator and leader in the nanny community, specifically in respectful care practices, Steiner, Reggio-Emilia and Waldorf. The parents chose not to send their son to school this last year because of COVID, so she stepped in to help home-school. Additionally, the present nanny worked on a consulting basis for the parents educating them for the last year about her methods and the parents have thus adopted her approach and are looking for a nanny with like-minded philosophies and a background in education/child development. The farm is at the nanny's disposal entirely and is a wonderful, open opportunity for creative, play-lead learning. The parents truly want someone capable of taking advantage of all the resources available to them, someone very PLAYFUL themselves and someone who wakes up and thinks, “What fun amazing things can we create, build and explore today!?” The parents are truly looking for someone with a unique combination of innate wildness, responsibility and ethics. They aim to teach their children to be resilient and self-sufficient in the brave new world.Mom/Dad are hands on and truly looking for TEAMMATES to share responsibilities with -- they have an 'ALL HANDS ON DECK' philosophy and work hard to raise good humans.  They deeply value their relationships with their nanny, treat them like family, and are looking for a person who genuinely enjoys working as a team and who is OK not having full autonomy, but rather someone who thrives working in a buddy system-- nannies are an extension of the parents and are responsible for helping to create a positive home/work life environment. This also means you have a no task is too big or too small mentality and open to helping pitch in with whatever is needed to get done (cooking, light cleaning, laundry, organizing, playing, etc). Generous package, commensurate with experience and education. Separate housing (off site apartment) is provided in addition to a room in the home for down time. The family has multiple homes (beach and ski and so on) and when traveling and visiting these places, the nanny will always be given their own room and bathroom and time to explore themselves Car is provided as well. Must have an impeccable driving record. Must be a strong swimmer! The parents believe strongly in providing the nanny with a situation wherein they feel extremely safe, always, comfortable and inspired. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays and vacation. Start date is ASAP!
