NATIONWIDE SEARCH: JACKSON HOLE, WY | FULL-TIME AFTERNOON NANNY/EDUCATOR-
A wonderful, down-to-earth family in Jackson Hole is seeking an educated, highly flexible nanny/educator for their 9-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. The family welcomes qualified candidates of all genders and is enthusiastically open to male nannies. This is an especially appealing opportunity for an active educator, tutor, mentor, or nanny who would enjoy meaningful work with school-aged children, an afternoon-focused schedule, travel opportunities, and an outdoor mountain lifestyle. The core schedule is Monday through Friday, generally from 2:00–7:00 p.m., beginning with school pickup between 2:00p - 3:00p. Additional hours will occasionally include later evenings until approximately 10:00 or 11:00 p.m., weekend nights, overnight care, and travel. Overnight care may range from one to five nights as needed and is compensated separately. The family provides as much advance notice as possible—typically one week—but occasional changes may occur within 24–36 hours due to the nature of the mother and father’s professions. This position is best suited to someone whose schedule allows for genuine flexibility and who is not balancing multiple fixed employment commitments.
Their 12-year-old son is a bright, curious, twice-exceptional child who is on the autism spectrum and has ADHD. He is independent, passionate, energetic, and capable of becoming deeply focused on subjects that interest him. He enjoys chess, skiing, reading, music, cooking, mountain biking, learning, and spending time outdoors. He benefits from patience, creativity, consistency, executive-function support, and thoughtful guidance when transitioning between activities or adapting to changes in plans. Their 9-year-old daughter is loving, artistic, observant, independent, and especially fond of animals and reading. Both children attend school five days per week from approximately 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. The family is seeking someone who can become a trusted afternoon tutor, mentor, and steady presence while also supporting the children’s broader routines and interests.
Responsibilities will include school pickup, transportation to activities and tutoring, homework and executive-function support, coordinating playdates, encouraging daily reading, planning creative and outdoor activities, preparing meals for the children, and providing evening care as needed. When the parents are traveling, the nanny will assist with school drop-off and additional household support, which may include grocery shopping, errands, dry cleaning, and picking up ski gear or sports equipment. Candidates must have a safe, reliable vehicle and a clean driving record. The family travels periodically to Austin and typically spends two to three weeks in Europe each summer, in addition to sailing in the British Virgin Islands for one to two weeks each year. The nanny may accompany them on select trips, so candidates must enjoy travel and hold a current passport. A daily travel stipend is provided.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, educated, trustworthy, honest, proactive, flexible, and confident working independently. A degree in education, teaching or tutoring experience, and professional experience supporting autistic children, children with ADHD, or executive-function needs are strongly preferred. The right person will be active, playful, patient, grounded, and comfortable embracing Jackson Hole’s outdoor lifestyle, including its hiking, skiing, cycling, and cold winters.
The family has lived in Jackson Hole since 2020 and has established a close community through the children’s school, friendships, and activities. Their home is a short drive from downtown and offers convenient access to parks, ski resorts, and the local library. They are a health-conscious Christian family who values cooking, music, art, theater, outdoor activity, travel, and meaningful connection. They hope to find someone who will encourage, inspire, and support their children while becoming a trusted part of their family’s team.
The start date is flexible for the right fit. Compensation is $40 gross per hour, negotiable, depending on experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick days, holidays, capped relocation assistance, and a generous $2,525 combined housing and insurance monthly stipend.
