Overview

Infant Close Up

Coral Gables, FL (Nationwide Search) - The Nanny League is assisting a warm, high-standards family in Coral Gables with their search for a full-time Nanny/Household Manager to support their busy household and 5-month-old son. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a candidate who thrives in a balanced role, equally comfortable running a smooth household as providing genuinely engaged, developmentally-minded infant care.

This role guarantees 40 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday, 1 pm - 9 pm, though the schedule may change and it will be important for candidates to have a flexible schedule. Mom is home full-time with the baby and does not require full-day childcare coverage. Instead, the ideal candidate will be able to flow naturally between periods of coverage and support for mom, primary childcare responsibilities, and household management duties.

The family is looking for a nanny who is deeply knowledgeable in infant and toddler development, including gross and fine motor skills, cognitive growth, language development, and social-emotional milestones. A background or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is strongly preferred, along with current Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, and choking response certification. The ideal candidate creates engaging, age-appropriate activities rather than simply supervising, incorporates reading, music, sensory play, and outdoor exploration, and understands early language development through narration, vocabulary building, and reciprocal communication. Familiarity with Montessori or RIE-style approaches is a plus, though the family values a candidate who is not rigid about any single philosophy.

This is a household with a highly involved, hands-on mom, so comfort working alongside an engaged parent is essential. The right candidate can move fluidly between roles: fully engaged primary caregiver when caring for the baby independently, a supportive presence who steps back and finds productive ways to help the household when Mom is with the baby, and a collaborative resource who shares developmental observations and ideas respectfully, without becoming authoritative or taking over. The family values expertise and initiative, paired with genuine respect for their role as the ultimate decision-makers.

Household responsibilities include child and family laundry, toy rotation and playroom organization, cooking for the baby, bottle and pump part care, running errands, handling returns, post office and store trips, and car maintenance coordination. A separate housekeeper handles deeper weekly cleaning, so this is light-to-moderate ongoing upkeep. The family is relocating to a new home in Coconut Grove within the next month, so flexibility through that transition is expected. There are two cats in the home requiring minimal, occasional support. The scope of this role is expected to grow over time, so a candidate who can pivot and grow alongside the family is ideal.

The family travels within the state for an extended stay of approximately six weeks around February, and is open to candidates who can travel with them or commute during that period, whichever works best. All travel costs are covered by the family. Additional travel, both domestic and international, is also required. Willingness to help with an occasional overnight, especially when Dad is traveling, is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate is warm, affectionate, and views this work as a career rather than a job. She is knowledgeable without being controlling, proactive without taking over, confident without being rigid, and calm, patient, and emotionally mature. Strong communication, discretion, professionalism, and a genuine team-first attitude are essential.

This search is open nationwide. Start date is ASAP. Candidates must be up to date on all vaccinations, including Covid and Flu, and hold a valid passport. Compensation is $40-50 gross hourly depending on experience, with flexibility for a Norland-trained candidate who is the right fit.
