MALIBU & SILICON VALLEY, CA — FULL-TIME FRIDAY/ SAT/ SUN/ MONDAY TRAVEL NANNY OR MANNY / FAMILY ASSISTANT

** Candidates must ideally reside in California. Candidates outside of California must be willing to relocate to the Los Angeles/Malibu area. This is NOT a fly-in/fly-out or ROTA position. **

A warm, loving, and highly engaged UHNW family primarily based in Malibu, with an additional residence in Silicon Valley, is seeking an exceptional Weekend & Travel Nanny/Manny / Family Assistant whose primary focus will be their outgoing and exceptionally bright 11-year-old son. The family also has a 3-year-old daughter who is primarily supported by other members of their established nanny team, though flexibility to assist with both children when needed is important.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, engaging, and highly capable nanny or manny who genuinely enjoys the school-age and preteen years and can develop a meaningful relationship with an intelligent, curious boy. The family is looking for someone who can be both a trusted caregiver and positive role model—someone who can have fun, be active and engaging, while also providing structure, accountability, boundaries, and guidance as he becomes increasingly independent.

The family divides its time between Malibu and Silicon Valley, with Malibu serving as an important home base for this position. Candidates already residing in the Los Angeles/Malibu area are strongly preferred, though candidates elsewhere in California may be considered. Exceptional out-of-state candidates must be willing to permanently relocate to the Los Angeles area. This is specifically not a fly-in/fly-out position and not a ROTA role; the family is seeking someone who will be locally based and become a consistent, long-term presence in their son's life. Accommodations are provided when working from the family's Silicon Valley residence and during travel.

The successful candidate will join a well-established childcare team consisting of a Head Nanny and two additional nannies, with two team members primarily dedicated to the youngest child. This position will therefore have the opportunity to develop a particularly strong relationship with the family's 11-year-old son, while collaborating closely with the nanny team, household staff, and full-time security personnel. The family's homeschool educators operate separately from the nanny team, and his education and enrichment primarily take place on the family's properties.

The position follows a concentrated and permanent weekend schedule, typically Friday at 6:00 AM through Monday at 7:00 PM, including daytime care, overnight responsibility, weekend coverage, and travel support as needed. Candidates must genuinely want a weekend-focused position and be comfortable with overnights and schedule flexibility. While the schedule is concentrated, this should not be confused with a rotational arrangement; the candidate will maintain a local home base and report to work each week as scheduled.

The family's 11-year-old son is homeschooled Monday through Friday from approximately 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM and is described as exceptionally bright, happy, curious, outgoing, and chatty. The ideal candidate will know how to engage with him on his level while helping foster independence, organization, confidence, executive-functioning skills, accountability, and practical life skills. The family is looking for someone who will do much more than supervise—this person should enjoy being an active companion, mentor, and positive influence who can create fun and meaningful experiences while reinforcing the family's expectations and values.

Responsibilities include planning and participating in engaging activities and outings; supporting routines, organization, and personal responsibilities; encouraging independence and age-appropriate life skills; helping manage belongings and schedules; preparing for travel; and providing thoughtful companionship and guidance. Family Assistant responsibilities include children's laundry, wardrobe and inventory organization, activity and travel preparation, calendar coordination, documentation, and helping ensure seamless transitions between the family's Malibu and Silicon Valley residences.

While the 11-year-old will be the primary charge, candidates must be comfortable stepping in with the family's energetic 3-year-old daughter when needed and working collaboratively as part of the larger childcare team. She enjoys swimming, outdoor play, walks, and hands-on exploration and is primarily cared for by the other nannies.

This is a highly organized, technology-forward household. Candidates must be comfortable using Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, WhatsApp, and shared digital tracking systems as part of their everyday workflow.

The ideal candidate is confident, warm, active, upbeat, polished, emotionally intelligent, and proactive, with the ability to connect naturally with a preteen while maintaining appropriate authority and boundaries. The family would particularly value someone who can become a positive mentor and role model during these formative years. A minimum of five years of professional nanny or private household experience, strong written communication skills, CPR and First Aid certification, and a valid driver's license are required. Prior UHNW, travel, private education, coaching, mentoring, or school-age experience would be especially valuable.

The household is led by an experienced Head Nanny and has developed into a highly collaborative, structured, and supportive environment. The family is deeply loving and family-oriented while maintaining high standards for professionalism, consistency, discretion, and attention to detail. They are seeking someone who wants to become a long-term, locally based member of their established team.

For the family's privacy and security, no photographs of the children or residences will be shared, and candidates advancing in the process will be required to sign a strict confidentiality agreement and NDA.

The family offers a highly competitive compensation package, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and health insurance benefits. Target compensation is $150,000–$170,000 annually, with exceptional candidates possessing extensive UHNW, travel, school-age, or developmental experience considered above this range. The start date is flexible and will be determined once the right long-term fit is identified.
