TRAVERSE CITY, MI (LOCAL/IN-STATE CANDIDATES PREFERRED) – A warm, welcoming family in beautiful Northern Michigan seeks a FULL-TIME NANNY/FAMILY ASSISTANT to support their children and household, working approximately 30–45 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexible and can be part-time or full-time). Hours will be discussed and agreed upon in advance, with a schedule set each month. Some flexibility may be required for school activities and travel! Weekends are optional, and flexibility is reciprocated whenever possible.

This position is primarily live-out; however, the family is open to a temporary live-in arrangement for the first few months to support a relocating candidate as they secure permanent housing. A long-term live-out arrangement is preferred.

Care will focus primarily on the family’s younger children: an almost 4-year-old and an 8-year-old boy. The 8-year-old is homeschooled for ~35 minutes/day, typically while his brother naps. The nanny will assist with homeschooling support and collaborate with the parents. Parents are open to hiring an additional local tutor a few days per week if the ideal candidate isn’t comfortable with academics.

The role may also include occasional transportation for their daughter in 6th grade from school or sports, as well as minimal involvement with the family’s 8th-grade daughter when needed. Responsibilities include engaging childcare, age-appropriate educational enrichment, and child-related family support, along with household organization, laundry, meal prep and general family assistance.

The children enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle and love cooking, hiking, art projects, and spending time at the neighborhood park. Their son has severe, life-threatening allergies to pine nuts, tree nuts, sesame, chickpeas, and dogs. The nanny must be highly vigilant, comfortable managing food allergies, and willing to carry an EpiPen. Prior experience with food allergies is strongly preferred.

The family is seeking a fun-loving, patient, kind, and organized nanny who is active, dependable, and interested in a long-term role. They value healthy, organic eating and are looking for someone comfortable cooking and encouraging healthy habits in the home.

Compensation is $25–$35 per hour gross, paid via payroll. Benefits include two weeks of paid time off and health insurance offered after a successful trial period. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate. Start date is ASAP, but flexible for the right candidate.
