Overview

Sis and Infant

CALIFORNIA WIDE STATE SEARCH ONLY: PALO ALTO, CA

A warm, respectful family is seeking two exceptional FULL-TIME ROTA TEMPORARY NANNIES starting in January 2026, with a strong possibility of extending long-term for one or both candidates. The role centers primarily around the family’s 3-year-old daughter, with occasional support for their 14-month-old (who has her own full-time nanny) and requires nannies who are professional, nurturing, organized, and travel-ready. Mom will be undergoing surgery on January 15th, resulting in a six-to-eight week recovery period during which she will be unable to lift or carry either child. Because of this, the family will temporarily need TWO LIVE-IN (or out if local) ROTA NANNIES to provide seamless, full-charge care approximately 8-12 hours a day, seven days a week, through April 1st. After the recovery period, the position will transition into a more typical full-time schedule, generally 8 AM–6 PM with two earlier 7 AM start days each week, plus three Saturdays per month. That can be the schedule between two rota nannies long-term, or just one nanny taking on the role FULL-TIME sole charge. All open for discussion, but consistency is essential for the long-term. THEY ARE WILLING TO FLY YOU IN/OUT AS LONG AS YOU ARE LOCAL TO CALIFORNIA.

The family travels domestically and internationally several times a year and is seeking candidates who are fully comfortable maintaining routines and structure while traveling. Compensation includes $40 per hour for regular hours and $60 per hour for overtime, along with a $300 monthly healthcare stipend, paid travel expenses, and a $100 nightly rate for overnight sleep shifts when not actively caring for the children. When working overnight flights or providing active care, hourly rates apply.

Duties include full-charge care for the 3-year-old; occasional support for the toddler; managing daily routines, playdates, outings, and developmental activities; handling school drop-off and pick-up; and completing light child-related housekeeping such as laundry, tidying play spaces, and loading or unloading the dishwasher. Assistance with the family’s small dog is appreciated but not required. T he family offers two weeks of paid vacation per year, all major holidays paid (double if working), and prefers at least a one-year commitment beyond the temporary period. Their younger daughter’s nanny is Brazilian, so Portuguese-speaking candidates are especially encouraged, though they welcome applicants of all backgrounds who embody warmth, flexibility, teamwork, professionalism, and genuine care for young children.

This is an incredible opportunity for experienced ROTA nannies who thrive in supportive, organized households and who are excited to provide stability, consistency, and loving care for two young children during an important transition for the family.
