A warm and dynamic family in Palo Alto is seeking an exceptional full-time nanny to join their home. This role centers primarily on the care and engagement of their bright, imaginative 3-year-old daughter, with occasional support for their sweet 14-month-old. They are looking for a professional, travel-ready, and nurturing live-out nanny who thrives in a loving, fast-paced household and values structure, reliability, and discretion.
The typical schedule is full-time, averaging eight to nine hours per day, most often from 8 AM to 6 PM, with two earlier 7 AM starts per week. The family also anticipates needing support three Saturdays per month, with additional flexibility during the mother’s upcoming surgery and six-week recovery period in Los Angeles, when seven-day coverage may be needed. Compensation includes $40 per hour for regular hours, $60 per hour for overtime, and a $300 monthly health insurance stipend. When traveling domestically or internationally, all expenses, accommodations, and meals are fully covered. Overnight travel hours are compensated at the regular or overtime rate when actively working, or at a flat $100 rate when the nanny is sleeping while the children sleep, including on travel days and Sundays even when off.
Responsibilities include nurturing and supporting both children, planning their daily routines, arranging playdates, and creating enriching, developmentally minded activities. Light child-related housekeeping is part of the role, such as handling the children’s laundry, keeping their spaces tidy, and loading or unloading the dishwasher. Assistance with their small dog, Hera, is appreciated but not required. All major holidays are paid, with double pay if working, and the position offers two weeks of paid vacation and a minimum one-year commitment, ideally longer. The family is loving, respectful, and deeply values warmth, professionalism, and a positive household environment. Because the mother will be unable to lift or carry her daughters for several weeks during recovery, they are seeking someone confident with caring for two young children at once and who can provide stability during this period. Their younger daughter’s nanny is Brazilian, and while not required, Portuguese speakers are especially encouraged to apply as it helps with communication and teamwork between caregivers.
The family travels internationally several times a year and hopes to find a nanny who is excited to join them on these adventures while preserving a sense of consistency, comfort, and routine for their girls. Must have valid passport!
