Overview

Infant with pacifier

CANTON, MI (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED– OPEN TO RELOCATION) – A thoughtful, first-time family in Canton, MI, is seeking a full-time, long-term live-out nanny to care for their sweet newborn son, currently just a few weeks old. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and nurturing childcare professional who is passionate about early development and eager to grow with a family through the infant and toddler years.

The ideal candidate will be warm, patient, and highly attentive to detail, bringing both emotional intelligence and a strong background in child psychology and development. The family is particularly interested in a caregiver who understands and values the importance of right- vs. left-brain development as it relates to early learning and growth. Candidates should be genuinely curious and excited about ongoing learning and continuing education, and able to apply that knowledge in a hands-on, developmentally informed way.

This role is perfect for someone intentional in their interactions; balancing structure and flexibility, introducing age-appropriate routines, and fostering curiosity and learning through play, reading, and sensory experiences.

The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm, and Friday is a half-day(approximately 40 hours per week), with occasional flexibility for evenings as needed. Duties will focus on all aspects of the child’s care; feeding, diapering, establishing routines, and supporting developmental milestones, along with light household tasks such as tidying spaces, children’s laundry, and generally leaving the home better than it was found. While not required, assistance with pet care (three friendly cats) is a plus!

The family’s home is located in a peaceful, walkable neighborhood with sidewalks perfect for stroller walks. Candidates should be up to date on Tdap, flu, and COVID vaccinations, and open to occasional travel if needed.

Compensation is $30–$35/hour gross via payroll, commensurate with experience, and includes paid holidays and sick days. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right fit, though local candidates are strongly preferred.
