GLADWYNE, PA — A thoughtful and professional family seeking a nurturing and proactive part-time nanny to join their household and become a true extension of their parenting team. Their sweet and inquisitive son, 2.5 years old (turning three in November), is bright, active, and affectionate. He enjoys imaginative play, cars, dinosaurs, animals, sports (especially baseball, soccer, and basketball), and running around outdoors. He is improving through some mild speech hesitancy and articulation challenges and thrives with gentle encouragement, consistent routines, and stimulating engagement. The family allows one hour of total screen time per day, in short intervals, and would love a nanny who prioritizes active, creative play. Both parents are physicians and, while hands-on and involved, they occasionally work from home with protected health information and personal financial/medical details, so maintaining discretion and confidentiality is essential. An NDA will be required.
The schedule will look something like Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Thursdays from 1 PM to 5 PM (20 hours per week), with the opportunity to grow. The family is flexible and open to minor adjustments, especially regarding the shorter school-day hours. Evenings and weekends are not required, though once a strong relationship is established, there may be occasional opportunities for additional support. For the right candidate, this role has the potential to expand into a full-time position, especially if the family welcomes a second child in the future.
The ideal candidate is gentle, caring, trustworthy, and engaging; someone who will fully immerse themselves in imaginative play, encourage growth, and help him reach all developmental milestones. A nanny who can keep pace with an active toddler, chase him around outdoors, and balance fun with thoughtful structure will thrive here. Experience caring for toddlers as well as infants is preferred. The family would also value someone who is comfortable taking on light family assistant duties to keep things running smoothly.
The home is set on a quiet, private street with ample outdoor play space and parking. While not walkable to parks, the house is near major public transportation centers, so a confident driver with reliable transportation is ideal. The family has two large Labrador Retrievers (~80 lbs each, gentle, but excitable and vocal), so comfort with dogs is a must!
