FORT WORTH, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) - The most amazing family in the Rivercrest neighborhood of west Fort Worth seeks a FULL-TIME NANNY for their three girls, ages 6.75, 4.5 years old and 17 months. The eldest is in 1st Grade from 7:45 am - 3:10 pm. She has 1-2 enrichment activities in the afternoon, such as softball, tennis and art club. Her middle sister attends a Pre-K program at a different school 5 days per week from 8am - 2:30 pm. The nanny's primary responsibility is the two older children and will be responsible for after-school pickup and taking the older children to/from their activities. On Thursday, the nanny will take care of the 16-month-old. A nanny car with car seats (new Ford Explorer) is provided for use while on the job.
They seek a nanny who can work 35-40 hours per week (guaranteed), can manage all after-school pick-ups and activities and can tag team with a full-time housekeeper/nanny (who works M, Tues, Weds, Fri) and takes care of their 17-month-old. General hours, when school is in session, are from 1:00 pm- 7:00 pm on Mondays, 8:00 am - 7:00 pm on Thursdays, and 11:00 am - 6:00 pm on Fridays. During school closures and breaks, when parents are working the nanny may be required to have more flexible hours but advance notice will be provided. They would love someone who is open to working late 1 night per week (usually not past 9:30pm during the weekdays). There will be some overnights approximately once a quarter that may fall on weekends when the parents are traveling. They ask for flexibility to stay with the girls at their home during these weekends, as they have no family in the state.
They travel domestically as a family and may ask their nanny if they are open to joining them, particularly during the summer! Their travels often take them to their home in Big Sky, MT during the holidays (they do not expect their nanny to work over Christmas but meet them afterwards), over spring break, and for 2-3 weeks in the summer. When they travel, the nanny will always have a private room and bathroom. However, travel is not a requirement as they can find other help to travel such as their housekeeper/nanny who currently travels with them.
They have a beloved full-time house manager/infant nanny (except on Thursday) who takes the lead on all laundry and preparing protein for dinner ahead of time. She leaves at 6:00pm (Mon-Wed, Friday). This Nanny will need to care for the 17-month-old on Thursday all day and need to pick up the middle child from nursery at 2:30pm on Thursday. They would like a nanny who is a team player with their house manager/toddler nanny and can pitch in with the children's laundry or tidying children's communal areas and bedrooms. No heavy cleaning, as they have a housekeeper 4 days per week who focuses on deep cleaning and all laundry. Duties other than complete childcare include loading/unloading the dishwasher, cleaning kitchen after children meals, and teaching the children how to clean up after themselves and their play areas.
All three girls are incredibly outgoing, busy, and full of sunshine! They love sports, to play outside, ride their scooters, play with their friendly lab (must love dogs!). The eldest enjoys reading and art and crafts, while the middle loves to build with magna-tiles and puzzles! Both girls love gymnastics and reading books together with their nanny. While the older girls are the best of friends, they also need to learn to give each other space and communicate frustrations appropriately to the other one. The middle child (4.5-year-old) also needs gentle reminders and redirection about self control and impulse control. She can get tired easily and then gets frustrated and upset. This nanny needs to be very patient and help teach emotional regulation. Positive reinforcement is very important with the middle child, as is praising good behavior.
They seek a nanny who is outgoing, playful, and engaging. Someone with an upbeat attitude who takes the initiative to plan creative and fun activities both in the home and out around town! They value enthusiasm and patience. They desire a nanny who isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves, be active, and physically play with the girls! They also need a nanny that understands driving to/from activities, school carpool lines, or doctors appointments is part of the job and it is not all playtime all the time. They need someone who is experienced with child development and can partner with parents to appropriately redirect behavior, as well as teach table manners. Someone who is loving yet firm, with the confidence and experience to appropriately redirect the children if they test boundaries. They value consistency and reliability, as both parents work demanding jobs and have little flexibility in their schedules for their nanny to call out.
They are looking for a nanny who is a strong communicator. Someone who is direct about their needs and what is required to be successful in the position, and someone who will make sure parents are on the same page with their daughters’ development and any potential concerns.
Pay is commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid 5 sick days, certain paid holidays, and 2 weeks of vacation (1 week during the family travels during major holidays and 6 weeks in the summertime, and 1 week of the nanny’s choosing).
