CYPRESS, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY)- A lovely family in the suburbs of Houston seeks a FULL-TIME LIVE-OUT NANNY to join their household and care primarily for their 6-month-old baby boy during the day, and their 4.5-year-old son and 2.5-year-old daughter after school. Core hours are from 11am -7:00pm Monday-Friday with flexibility as needed.
The eldest two attend an in-home Montessori program in Katy, TX from 9am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. During school hours, the nanny will focus on providing nurturing, developmentally appropriate care for the infant. In the afternoons, the nanny will assist with care for all three children, creating a calm, engaging environment filled with outdoor play, arts and crafts, and thoughtful transitions into the evening routine. The family seeks a nanny who can provide a structured yet joyful environment, genuinely loves working with young children, and wants to play a long-term, meaningful role in their lives.
Key responsibilities include engaging the baby in sensory-rich, Montessori-inspired activities and creating a weekly or monthly activity calendar tailored to the child’s developmental stages and the family’s daily rhythm. This involves maintaining a stimulating and purposeful environment, with thoughtfully curated sensory experiences such as playdough, uncooked rice or pasta, Jell-O, shaving cream etc.
The nanny will manage nap and feeding routines, prepare bottles, and store breast milk as needed. Each day, they will assist with taking care of the baby, toy rotation, light meal preparation and organization. The nanny will alternate with the family to handle school pickup, taking children to activities or appointments with a family vehicle, and lead screen-free indoor and outdoor playtime, with movies permitted only as occasional, planned activities.
Additional responsibilities include preparing snacks and dinner for the children, helping with kitchen cleanup, rotating and organizing toys, maintaining clean and tidy play areas, and providing feedback on items to donate or replace. The nanny will assist with managing the children's laundry, dishes, clothing organization (including bows and accessories), and help with school-related needs such as supplies or teacher communication. The family highly values clear communication and will expect regular updates on routines, milestones, and any concerns.
Their eldest has Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), which can present with symptoms similar to ADD or ADHD. For this reason, the family strongly prefers a nanny with experience or knowledge in working with children who have ADD/ADHD and/or neurological inflammation. He will eventually transition to school or be homeschooled in about 1-1.5 years. If they chose to homeschool, it would be a plus if their nanny is willing to help with homeschooling, but not a requirement. Around this time, their youngest will also transition to the Montessori school.
The parents are business owners who work from home in a dedicated office space. They are hands-on, respectful, and deeply appreciative of their nanny’s contributions. They have one dog and ample space for outdoor play. The family hopes to find someone who enjoys a nature-based lifestyle and values time outside with the children.
The ideal candidate is loving, energetic, emotionally intelligent, and organized. They should be calm under pressure and comfortable managing three young children with confidence. Experience with or interest in Montessori philosophies is highly preferred. Bilingual candidates are a plus! They are also seeking someone who is open to occasional travel for family vacations/staycations and who values a long-term, trusting relationship. A cell phone use policy is in place to ensure the nanny is fully present during working hours, though phone use is allowed for emergencies, navigation, family updates, or sharing photos. In return, the nanny will be treated with warmth, respect, and appreciation as a valued part of the family team.
Compensation is $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime is compensated after 40 hours/week. Benefits include paid sick days, paid holidays, and paid vacation (which begins after six months of employment). The position begins as soon as the right person is found.
