HOUSTON, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) - A fun-loving family is seeking a full-time, long-term professional nanny to support the growth and development of their healthy/ happy 3-month-old son. This unique position offers the chance to split time between Houston, TX, and Louisiana, with private accommodations provided in Louisiana. 

 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with infants and toddlers, a strong understanding of child development milestones and be highly attentive. Primary focus is to provide a loving, safe and educational environment, with a strong emphasis on fostering the baby’s cognitive and emotional development.

 

The family values candidates with experience in early childhood education and a commitment to staying current with best practices in developmental care. Creativity and a proactive approach to age-appropriate activities are highly desirable.

 

The general working hours are from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional flexibility is needed for evenings, weekends, and travel. Frequent travel between Houston and Louisiana is expected, with national and international travel, making a flexible mindset essential. This is intended as a long-term position of three or more years, making it an excellent fit for a career-oriented nanny seeking stability and the opportunity to build a lasting bond with the family.

 

Your primary duties will center on complete childcare, prioritizing the baby’s safety, hygiene, and well-being. Responsibilities include feeding, maintaining his sleep schedule, while nurturing his development. 

 

In Louisiana, the family provides private accommodations in a separate guest house featuring a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area, ensuring the nanny has privacy and comfort. Also, while in Louisiana lunch and dinner will be provided. The Houston residence is a centrally located condo with convenient transportation access. 

 

Fluent Spanish speaker with the willingness to teach the baby Spanish is very highly regarded. The mother works from home 3 days a week and is actively involved in the child’s care, making it important for the nanny to work collaboratively with the parents.

The family prefers a candidate with at least five years of experience with infants, strong communication skills, and the ability to take initiative. A nurturing, proactive, and safety-conscious approach is essential. Attentiveness is necessary; minimizing phone screen time while working. Experience preparing organic baby food when the child begins solids would be an added advantage. 

 

Candidates' vaccines should be up to date, including Covid, Flu, Tdap, and MMR. The compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate starting at $25-30+/hr commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive benefits package (PTO, healthcare etc.). Relocation to be discussed further for the right candidate. Start date is ASAP, and candidates should be open and willing to sign an NDA.

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 5+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE
  • UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)
  • THE ABILITY TO MAKE A ONE-YEAR COMMITMENT UNLESS APPLYING FOR A TEMPORARY POSITION
  • A PASSION FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
  • 5+ YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN ANY FIELD
  • EXCELLENT WORK AND PERSONAL REFERENCES
