Overview

nyc nanny and child

SEATTLE, WA (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) - An amazing professional Mother in Central Seattle is seeking a FULL-TIME LIVE-IN/OUT NANNY for her 2 children; a 6-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter. The role begins on April 1st and runs through November 1st with potential to extend beyond November. The initial schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM and may be subject to change. Flexibility will be important in this role as mom is a working mother with some evening and weekend work. The nanny will be given notice once the mom has her official schedule in hand.

This position offers a unique opportunity to support two young children in a dynamic and engaging environment while working closely with a dedicated and involved mother. The 6-year-old son has autism and sensory needs. He is verbal and potty trained but may get overwhelmed easily. He thrives with a caregiver who is patient, understanding, and skilled at de-escalating during moments of overwhelm. Candidates with experience working with children with autism or sensory sensitivities, or with a background in speech therapy, occupational therapy, or related fields, are strongly preferred. Their almost 2-year-old daughter is active, curious, and always on the go. She naps daily and is currently potty-training and will need potty-training support from the nanny. Both children are sweet, laid-back, and love to play.

A major focus of the nanny’s responsibilities will be preparing the son for school in the fall by encouraging social interaction while still allowing him the comfort of independent play. The nanny should facilitate structured activities that help him engage with other children. The two-year-old daughter is very active and enjoys outdoor play and sports. A candidate who is comfortable around water, understands water safety, and is open to swimming with the children in pools is a bonus, but not required.

Starting in May, the schedule will require flexibility due to later work nights. The nanny should be open to working later evenings as needed, and a private suite or personal space will be provided for any overnight stays. Travel is also a component of the role, as the nanny should be open to both domestic and international trips with the family, including flying private. However, no driving is required for this position.

The nanny should be open to occasional overnight stays and international travel with the family. Standard vaccinations are required. Start date is April 1, 2025. Pay is contingent upon experience!
