TRAVERSE CITY, MI (NATIONWIDE SEARCH) - An incredible family of 7 seeks a LIVE-IN or LIVE-OUT NANNY/FAMILY ASSISTANT to join their bustling household 30-35 hours per week. The primary focus is on their two youngest boys, ages 2 and 7, with some additional responsibilities for their three older daughters, mainly involving transportation to/from activities and school, along with meal and snack preparation.

All the children, except the 2-year-old, attend school during the academic year at a nearby private Catholic school. Your main duties will include complete childcare for the youngest two and transportation for the older children. Family laundry, dishes, cooking and cleanup will take place during the youngest's nap time. Additional duties include snack/meal preparation, occasional errands, and helping with homework (though this is not a strict requirement). Meal preparation for family dinners will be needed 2–3 times per week, with dedicated time allocated for these tasks to ensure focus in the kitchen without the children present.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Sundays and Mondays OFF
  • Tuesdays 1-4PM childcare + meal prep before or after without children (up to 6 hours)
  • Wednesdays 11AM-7PM household support & childcare (8 hours)
  • Thursdays 10AM-4PM childcare + meal prep before or after without children (up to 8 hours)
  • Fridays 11AM-6PM household support & childcare (7 hours)
  • Saturdays – afternoons for a few hours as scheduled (likely every other Saturday)

They have a full-time primary nanny, allowing for more focus on household and family assistant responsibilities such as laundry, meal preparation, and running errands without the children. The two nannies can coordinate schedules to ensure coverage and balance vacation or sick time. The household is further supported by a weekly housekeeper/organizer and a personal assistant, who works from the parents' office rather than the home.

This position offers flexible live-in or live-out options, although living out is preferred. Housing accommodations can be a room in the home or a neighboring property. A family car is provided, but the nanny must have their own vehicle for personal use. Candidates must be confident and comfortable driving in snowy and icy conditions, as Michigan winters can be long and harsh yet beautiful. A relocation stipend is available for candidates relocating from out of state.

The younger children love to be active and outdoors, enjoying activities like cooking, hiking, art, and playing at the neighborhood park, just blocks from their home. The 7-year-old has a life-threatening allergy to pine nuts, tree nuts, sesame, chickpeas and dogs. The family seeks a nanny who can manage this allergy vigilantly and is willing to carry an EPI pen. Experience with allergies is a plus! The nanny is welcome to have a dog if living out, but must practice caution and wash hands upon entering the home and engaging with the child.

They are a fun-loving, tight-knit family seeking a long-term nanny (or nannies) who are patient, kind, active, organized, and respectful. The ideal candidate is ethical and honest, educated (preferably with a background in education), organized and respectful of the family's values. They are looking for someone who is a good role model. The family values healthy, organic eating and seeks a nanny who can encourage healthy habits in the home and be comfortable with cooking and meal prep.

Pay is $25-30/hour gross via payroll. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays, vacation and health insurance. Start date is ASAP!
