FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) - A family in Fort Lauderdale seeking a caring, experienced, and reliable FULL-TIME NANNY to assist with the care of thier newborn, expected in one month. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with infants and be well-versed in all aspects of newborn care, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining a consistent routine. In addition to infant care, you will also provide support for their 7-year-old daughter, ensuring her daily routines and activities are well-managed. The nanny should have a safe and reliable vehicle and possess a deep understanding of child development. Childcare qualifications such as Norland or similar would be a significant plus. Proficiency in Russian would also be highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Infant Care:
    • Provide primary care for their newborn, including feeding, diapering, and establishing a consistent routine.
    • Babysit the baby as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
    • Take the baby for daily walks, weather permitting, to promote fresh air and stimulation.
    • Monitor the baby’s health and development, and communicate any concerns with the parents.
    • Engage the baby in age-appropriate activities that promote development—this is not just passive babysitting but a child development opportunity.
  • Childcare for 7-Year-Old:
    • Safely transport their 7-year-old daughter to and from school, activities, and appointments (optional).
    • Assist with homework, ensuring comprehension and completion.
    • Communicate fluently in Russian and English to support bilingual language development (preferred but not required).
    • Prepare healthy snacks and meals for their daughter.
    • Engage in educational and creative activities, including reading, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
  • Household Management:
    • Keep common areas, the children's rooms, and play areas tidy and organized.
    • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as vacuuming, dusting, and kitchen cleanup.
    • Handle the children’s laundry, including washing, folding, and organizing.
    • Run errands as required.
  • Safety and Transportation:
    • Provide safe transportation with a reliable vehicle and clean driving record.
    • Maintain a high level of safety and awareness at all times.
    • Be certified in first aid and CPR, with knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Flexibility:
    • Be available for occasional evening or weekend care as needed.
    • Accompany the family on vacations or trips, providing childcare support during travel.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Provide regular updates on their newborn’s and daughter’s activities and progress.
    • Work closely with parents to ensure a consistent approach to discipline, education, and activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience working with infants and children, including newborns.
  • Language: Fluent in English; proficiency in Russian would be ideal.
  • Vehicle: Must have a safe, reliable car and a clean driving record.
  • Certification: First aid and CPR certified.
  • Attributes: Trustworthy, reliable, culturally sensitive, and discreet.

Preferred Qualifications (A Huge Plus):

  • Certification or training from a recognized institution such as Norland College, CACHE Level 3, Montessori Certification, or equivalent.
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification from recognized providers such as the Red Cross or St. John Ambulance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel with the family as needed.
  • Vaccination Preference: Candidates should have MMR + Hep B Vaccines.

Qualifications

BA/BS college degree | AA in related field of study 

CPR/First Aid Certification (renew as needed)

Ability to make a one-year commitment unless applying for a temporary position

A passion for working with children

Two+ years childcare experience

Excellent work and personal references

U.S. driver's license (this does not apply to NYC residents)

Complete Stop the Silence Training upon Membership
 
Fluent in English/Bilingual a plus

Competent swimmer

Non-smoker

Willing to go through extensive Background Check

Must be Live-Scanned and registered with Trustline if CA resident

Willingness to show proof of immunizations

No-cell phone driving signed guarantee

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

USD $25.00/Hr.
