SAN ANTONIO, TX (NATIONWIDE SEARCH) – A charming family in the Alamo Heights / Terrell Hills area seeks a fun-loving, live-out FULL-TIME NANNY/HOUSEHOLD MANAGER for their 7-year-old girl, 5-year-old boy, and 3-year-old boy. They seek a down-to-earth professional with a strong moral compass who can become an integral part of the family and be the parents’ true partner in raising their children to be upstanding citizens. Someone who genuinely loves children and can work seamlessly with an incredibly sweet, hands-on stay-at-home mom. This role requires someone who understands and appreciates her active involvement and feels comfortable working alongside her as an extension of her caregiving.

 

A typical workweek is Monday/Wednesday 11 am - 6 pm, Tuesday/Thursday 12 pm - 6 pm, and Friday from 9 am - 4 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. The schedule requires some flexibility as the family’s needs can be dynamic and change week to week. You will likely work 32-38 hours/week but will be paid for 40 hours guaranteed.

 

The eldest two are in school full-time during the academic year, and the youngest attends school 4 days per week. The nanny will be responsible for picking the children up from school and taking them to activities. A family vehicle is provided for the nanny to use while on the job. Household management duties will be the focus while the children are in school. Prior household management experience is a huge plus! They seek someone who takes the initiative to keep their home running like a well-oiled machine and thrives off a checklist.

 

They spend 6-8 weeks in Jackson Hole during the summer (housing is provided) and take extended weekend trips (Thursday-Sunday) quarterly, as well as holiday trips and visits to their ranch. They seek a candidate who is open to traveling with the family. Must have a passport or be willing to get one! They have a Labrador and Golden Retriever in the home and seek an animal lover who is willing to care for the dogs, letting them in/out, taking them on occasional walks, and taking them to the vet as needed.

 

They seek a nanny/household manager who can help instill morals and values in their children. Someone who can actively shape their hearts in everyday experiences and discern when to address difficult questions and when to leave them for the parents to answer. As a Christian household with children attending Christian schools, they value a caregiver who shares their faith (not required) or is willing to work in an openly Christian home. They seek candidates with a backbone who can instill manners and academic achievement through structure and activities. Someone who can raise their children to be humble and grateful, not entitled. 

 

The family also values an active and healthy lifestyle. They enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, etc. They eat organic, and while it is not a requirement for the nanny to adopt their lifestyle, they seek someone who can instill a healthy diet and active lifestyle in their children and model this behavior on the job.

 

Overall, they seek a caregiver who can be an extension of the parents and family as a whole in terms of character, honesty, integrity, and humility. Someone who is more than a babysitter and can help shape, raise, and discipline their children when needed. They do not see their nanny as staff but instead as a well-respected third parent. Someone who can plan charming outfits for family photos or select the perfect wine for an event, but also isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty at the ranch! The family has employed a TNL nanny long-term and she has expressed that this is the BEST family she has ever worked for!

 

Pay is $30-40/hour depending on experience. They are also offering relocation assistance and a handsome housing stipend. Benefits include PTO + Sick Days + Paid Holidays + Travel Rate + Overnight Rate. They appreciate good work and recognize it with performance-based pay increases and bonuses. The family has no vaccination preference at this time. The projected start date is August 15, 2024.

Responsibilities

CHILDCARE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Day-to-day necessities:
    • Packing school lunches
    • Returning library books on time
    • Ensuring backpacks are ready for school
    • Preparing uniforms and sports equipment
    • Overseeing or assisting with homework
  • Children’s laundry
  • Keeping the kids’ areas tidy and taking initiative in organizational projects (bedroom, playroom, closet, arts/crafts)
  • Scheduling enrichment activities outside of school (e.g., sports, summer camps, ski school)
  • Preparing healthy dinners for the children or taking them out for dinner when parents are out in the evening
  • Providing fun and engaging activities inside the house and outings outside the house on days off from school and over weekends
  • Packing and unpacking children for trips

HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assisting Mom with daily tasks:
    • Running errands (picking up food orders, visiting Target, handling gifts, car washes, and mail)
    • Organization/planning through calendars and shared notes with a running to-do list
  • Basic kitchen upkeep:
    • Loading/unloading the dishwasher
    • Wiping down counters at the end of the day
    • Putting away groceries
    • Keeping the pantry tidy and organized
  • Staying on top of household items in the kitchen and laundry room
  • Rotating children’s seasonal clothing/toys and donations
  • Communicating with housekeeping about children's items that need special attention
  • Occasional meal prep for the family in the evenings (very limited)
  • Helping with class parties at school and events at home
  • Taking care of dogs:
    • Scheduling appointments
    • Ensuring food and meds are always available
    • Providing toys
    • Walking dogs at least once a week
    • Scheduling grooming
    • Occasional pet sitting when the family is away
