Nanny & 4yo doing Homework

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ (LOCAL CANDIDATES) A Lovely family in South Orange is looking for a FULL-TIME LONG-TERM NANNY to care for their 4.5-year-old son. Both parents work outside the home 3 days a week. They work demanding jobs and may need the nanny to stay late and potentially work some overnights/weekends.

The ideal schedule is Monday and Friday from 1 pm - 8 pm; Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 am - 8 am / 2 pm - 8 pm (split schedule); and Thursday from 6 am - 8 am / 2 pm - 10 pm (split schedule). Flexibility is required! Their son attends school from 8 am - 2 pm about 20 minutes from home. The family would like to find someone who can adjust their schedule during the summer and be available when their son is sick and when there are snow days.

Duties will include handling drop off and pickups on the days mom is in the office in addition to taking their son to scheduled activities such as a music class on Wednesday afternoons. The nanny should have a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record. The family will provide gas/mileage reimbursement. Other duties include reading, playing, making dinner, tidying up, and putting him down for the evening.

Their son suffers from eczema and needs a bath every night. He takes medication in the evenings that the nanny will be responsible for administering. The family is looking for someone who will be aware of and identify any flare-ups and/or breathing issues due to asthma.

The ideal candidate is passionate about childcare. Someone dependable, loyal, nurturing, and patient. A self-starter who is punctual, adaptable, and steadfast will be a great fit for this role. They are seeking someone willing to get down on the ground and engage with their son. They would like someone experienced who understands how to provide guidance when the family asks while being respectful of their parenting style. Mom is ultimately looking for a true partner who can be an extension of the parents to provide the best support and care for their son and to become a part of their family.

The family prefers candidates to be up to date with both flu and COVID vaccinations. Benefits include 5 sick days, 10 days of PTO, and federal holidays off and paid. Pay is $25-30/hr gross via payroll. The start date is ASAP!
