FALLS CHURCH, VA (OPEN TO ALL US CANDIDATES)-Super sweet parents just outside of DC are seeking a FULL-TIME LIVE-IN NANNY for their two girls, ages 3.5 and 1 (ages at time of start). They are open to live out candidates as well. Hours are from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, but they appreciate some flexibility as their schedules can change due to classroom/virtual learning, therapy appointments and nap schedule changes. Their eldest child is in preschool in the morning from 8:45-9:15 when virtual and 9-noon in a COVID free world. She has physical therapy Mondays and Thursdays and naps from 1:30-3pm. She has cerebral palsy which primarily impacts her legs, so she needs to be carried frequently – PHYSICAL STRENGTH IS IMPORTANT. She has leg braces and can walk with assistance. She likes to do as much as she can by herself, which is amazing, but it does entail longer than normal time spent feeding, bathing, getting dressed, etc. Patience is key! Parents would like for the nanny to attend all the therapy sessions and be eager to learn the different activities and exercises proscribed, and to do them for the rest of the week. They greatly value someone who can come up with daytime activities that are both fun but also offer opportunities to work on motor and speech skills, weight shifting, etc. Their youngest is always in motion! She is attached, happy and busy. She plays, naps, eats and repeats. She is currently napping twice a day. First and foremost, they would like a nanny who delights in their children and will form a strong, loving bond with them. They want their children to feel safe and loved above all else. They have a strong preference for a nanny with Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy training or related background/experience working with physically impaired children with a willingness and aptitude to learn and be trained. Perfect for someone who is just coming out of school who is looking for some hands-on experience. They would like to have a relationship with their Nanny and for them to integrate with the for the time they are there. They enjoy having meals together frequently and checking in when they cross paths on the weekend. Privacy and alone time are always respected! They are a neat and tidy family and seek someone who can help keep their quarters and the general household neat. They stick to a strict schedule and would appreciate a caregiver who can make and follow a structured schedule. They believe in learning through play and seek a nanny who can plan fun and therapeutic activities. They live in a residential area two blocks from the bus station and two miles from the DC metro. Room and board include a private bed and bathroom in their recently renovated, finished basement, complete with heated floors. Pay is $25-30K + room and board. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays, vacation and health care stipend ($900/year). Start date is July 1, 2021.

Qualifications

BA/BS college degree | AA in related field of study 

CPR/First Aid Certification (renew as needed)

Ability to make a one-year commitment unless applying for a temporary position

A passion for working with children

Two+ years childcare experience

Excellent work and personal references

U.S. driver's license (this does not apply to NYC residents)

Complete Stop the Silence Training upon Membership
 
Fluent in English/Bilingual a plus

Competent swimmer

Non-smoker

Willing to go through extensive Background Check

Must be Live-Scanned and registered with Trustline if CA resident

Willingness to show proof of immunizations

No-cell phone driving signed guarantee

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
