GLENCOE, IL- NATIONWIDE SEARCH! Wonderful parents just outside of Chicago are seeking a FULL-TIME LIVE-IN NANNY to care for their two sweet girls, ages 5 and 2 years. Their oldest has GRIN2B, a rare genetic disorder. She has global developmental delay and functions between 2-4 year-old age. She can talk, walk and eats by mouth. They are looking for a candidate who is willing to learn about her therapeutic goals and able to facilitate developmentally stimulating play. Position is 45 hours/week. Schedule will vary—flexibility is key! While schedule can change from week to week, it is typical for there to be evenings on Mondays and Thursdays as well as Sunday evenings. While they require flexibility, they are happy to be flexible in return and coordinate with their nanny’s schedule using a shared Google calendar. They prefer a LIVE-IN candidate but would consider live out for the right person. Live in accommodation consist of a furnished, recently renovated basement in their 4500 square-foot home with a private bedroom, bathroom and partial kitchen. Duties include complete childcare, taking the girls to and from daycare (youngest) and therapies/e-learning (eldest), helping with homework and therapies at home. Family car is provided. Parents are very involved and share these responsibilities as well. Most importantly, they are looking for a smart, proactive person who is looking to learn and further their career while helping their daughters learn and grow. They want someone who is genuinely interested in learning about pediatric therapies and/or early childhood education. Someone who is interested in integrating into their family but who is able to function independently. Someone who can put learning about this as a priority and learn about their eldest and her condition and therapies. A plus if you have speech or physical therapy experience, as well as experience working with children with special needs. Relocation assistance provided within reason. They live in the suburbs, 20-30 mins north of Chicago on Lake Michigan. They are about a half a mile from the beach and a quarter of a mile to the train station that goes downtown Chicago. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays, vacation and health insurance stipend. Benefits are negotiable for higher pay if desired. Salary is $15-20/hour. They are a loving, silly, busy family. Both parents are very involved and are looking for a nanny to be a partner in the care of their children. Start date is ASAP.
