BROOKLINE, MA-Busy family is looking for a FULL-TIME nanny to care for their three children, ages 8.5 (boy), 6.5 (boy) and 3 (girl) years. Hours are from 11am-8pm Monday-Friday. Oldest two boys are in school from 8am-3pm Monday-Friday. Both boys participate in after-school activities including ballet, tennis, Hebrew school and an hour of homework (oldest boy), in addition to therapy and tutoring (middle boy). Schedule for the 3-year-old consists of school from 8am-12pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday and from 8am-1pm Tuesdays and Thursdays; 2 hour naps each afternoon; ballet class once per week. Bedtime is 8pm for the oldest, 7:30pm for middle son and 7pm for 3-year-old. Middle child has challenges with self-regulation, sensory and sound processing issues, as well as difficulty focusing and participates in therapy in the home. It is very important to earn the respect and trust of each child, and create a relationship that enables the children to listen and respond. This is especially important with the middle child, who may be a little rigid, but is easy to engage with a careful tone and clever communication strategies. Nanny MUST be able to work as a TEAM with parents, tutors and therapist, as parents are very involved in these activities and their children, but are not always able to be physically present. COMMUNICATION with parents, tutors and therapist is key! Additional duties include driving children to their respective activities in family car (MUST have a CLEAN driving record); preparing meals and snacks; running errands; helping with homework; and light cleaning. Ideal candidate is proactive and plans ahead, ensuring that children are prepared for and at their respective activities on time (pack snacks, change of clothes for activities, etc.). MUST be organized, responsible, dependable, mature, careful and able to communicate clearly with parents (daily updates!) There will be some travel during summers for trips to the Cape/Vermont. There may also be minimal travel during the school year, as well as possible late evenings once or twice per month. Pay is $20-25 DOE. Additional Benefits include paid sick days, holidays and vacation! Start date is ASAP!
